　　The 12th five-year development plan for the machine tool industry, released recently by the China machine tool industry association, includes green manufacturing projects including remanufacturing. "Green manufacturing" is a modern manufacturing model that minimizes the negative impact on the environment and makes the use efficiency of raw materials, energy, etc. Machine tool products should be of high performance and high efficiency, save resources, low energy consumption and low pollution, and the processing process should be friendly and pleasant. Therefore, the whole process of "green" should be formed from the beginning of product design, from the selection, manufacture and use of materials to the recycling of products.Global environmental factors call for green manufacturingIn recent years, the impact of green manufacturing on the international machine tool industry has been increasing. In particular, since the financial crisis, major machine tool manufacturers have been vigorously developing new and high technologies and increasing investment in research and development to prepare for the next round of industrial upgrading in the post-crisis era. In Germany, since 1991, the government has allocated funds to support electromechanical remanufacturing for many times, helping enterprises, universities and research institutions to carry out remanufacturing research. Japan has also stepped up its remanufacturing of construction machinery in recent years, with at least 20 remanufacturing companies.In recent years, the world famous machine tool manufacturers, represented by demaki, yamazaki, GF archishamir, sriflin group, etc., have continuously launched high-efficiency, high-precision and low-energy machine tool products, which have been welcomed by customers, and also set a good example for other small and medium machine tool manufacturers' green manufacturing actions.China's national conditions determine that green manufacturing must be implementedAccording to incomplete statistics, China has about 8 million machine tools, which is the largest in the world. Among them, more than 2 million traditional old machine tools, which have been in service for more than 10 years, have entered the peak period of scrap of mechanical equipment. If these old machine tools are allowed to rust and fester, it is not only a waste of resources, but also a great threat to the environment.During the 12th five-year plan period (2011-2015), China will adhere to the mode of industrial development featuring green environmental protection and independent innovation, adhere to the green development strategy, and constantly promote ecological development, efficient utilization of capital flow, intensive production process and minimization of pollution emissions. Luo said that in response to the 12th five-year plan (2011-2015) call, energy-consuming products that pollute the environment will be rejected or heavily taxed, and research and application of low-carbon economy and green manufacturing technology have become the basis for China to enter the international market. Domestic machine tool enterprises should take immediate action to incorporate low-carbon manufacturing and green environmental protection into their future development plans.Resource and cost control require green manufacturingFrom the point of resource and the enterprise cost control, machine tool industry itself, there is also a strong hope for remanufacturing, machine tool industry in the upstream steel industry, steelmaking raw and auxiliary materials such as iron ore, coke are non-renewable natural resources, and needed for China's major steel mills rely on foreign three big iron ore mining giants, in recent years, subject to rising iron ore prices, steel prices, the downstream machine enterprise cost is high, therefore, machine tool remanufacturing is good for the environment, but also to reduce enterprise cost.Compared with new products, remanufacturing can save 60% energy, 70% material and 50% cost, produce almost no solid waste, and reduce the emission of air pollutants by more than 80%. Remanufacturing is conducive to the formation of a circular economy model of "resource-product-waste product-remanufactured product", which can make full use of resources and protect the ecological environment. On the other hand, the number of machine tools in China is growing rapidly, and the remanufacturing industry has great potential for development. A large number of equipment will be eliminated after reaching the scrapping requirements, and the newly added retired equipment is also increasing substantially. The development of remanufacturing industry is conducive to the formation of new economic growth points and a large number of employment opportunities for the society.Machine tool manufacturer "green manufacturing" in actionAt present, many universities and scientific research institutions in China have carried out research in the field of green manufacturing and achieved certain results.
